History of The Twin Falls Cemetery Association
While the original cemetery was located elsewhere in Twin Falls the agreement with a Herbert S. Martin who had donated property for that purpose did not keep his agreement although there had been burials in that location.
Founded and incorporated in August 1906 by a C. Harder, Haskell Hunt and others, the Twin Falls Cemetery property was obtained and platted out.
Some of the bodies in the original location were moved to the new Twin Falls Cemetery location which is located at 2350 4th Ave E in Twin Falls, ID.
The cemetery consists of approximately 20 acres which has been privately owned and maintained for many years.
There is a lot of history buried in the cemetery such as the infamous Lady Bluebeard, Idaho’s first women serial killer. Three of her victims lie interred in the Twin Falls Cemetery including Sheriff Ormsby who was involved in her capture.
Another historic figure interred at the Twin Falls Cemetery is Clarence E Bisbee who came to Twin Falls in 1906 two years after the city was incorporated and was a well-known photographer in the early days of Twin Falls and the Magic Valleys development.
About 2000 of his original glass plate negatives are now at the Twin Falls Library.
Another interesting burial is H.S. Webb killed by the Indians in 1852 along with other members of his family about seven miles from Twin Falls. He was disinterred by the Odd Fellows in 1909 and buried in the Twin Falls Cemetery where there is a monument marking his grave.
There are many more historical figures interred including Civil War soldiers and others.
